What do you mean,"we"? ;)

Flying has become ever more unpleasant over the last several decades. Between the security theater after 9/11, shrinking seats, more crowded planes, surly "flight attendants", it was an experience I tried to avoid. But now, with pandemic-theater thrown in? Forget it. If I can't drive somewhere, I'm not going there.

Agreed, it was horrific before. But why are people packing airplanes then complaining about wearing masks? They won’t sacrifice.

I am with you - thank God! - My "lifestyle" requires no flying - last time in a "sardine can" was 1995 - hence, un-molested by TSA! I was surprised to learn recently however, that due to advanced air-filtration, the air-quality inside commercial airliners approaches that of surgical theaters - ah, but then the airline CEOs who brought that to our attention and gently suggested that the covid-submission-theater could someday end got shouted down real fast on national TV!

People ARE stopping flying. The masses that put up with the now-tyrannical air waitress bullies and 18- hour masking sessions were never going to quit flying, but a large enough number of people that CHOOSE to fly are choosing NOT to fly as to cause the airline CEOs to start begging TPTB to reverse mask policies and vax passports because their stocks are bleeding to death.

It's not nothing.

I hope you are correct. I personally have stopped flying and will not fly again until these things are long gone. Unfortunately I see too many people who will not make any sacrifices but will just complain. To me that’s worse than promoting the mandates.

I've made the same decision.

I don't think you can rely on people making principled sacrifices at a population level.

The airlines are hurting because the restrictions are inconvenient and unpleasant enough that people who don't absolutely need to fly are saying "fuck it," and market forces take over.

That's about as good as it gets for most things.

Thank you. People are not willing to sacrifice a thing any more. So they’re prolonging this nonsense. It’s offensive to me.
